THREE QUOTES
SYSTEM
AtW will will only approve the cheapest of three quotes that you are required to obtain, this does not necessarily mean the cheapest solution, if it does not fully meet the customer need.
Our communication support workers have minimum level LSL/BSL or equivalent as first/ native language user in both LSL/BSL (usually a Deaf person).
It will no require multiple communication support workers which usually need LSL relay who work alongside BSL interpreter (may cost above £110 per hour depending on local market). Therefore, why LSL ACCESS Ltd are more cost-effective alternative. LSL ACCESS Ltd aim cost-effective and language preference/specific communication requirements and the minimum needs for Deaf clients.

*Deaf Relays are experienced Deaf people who work alongside BSL interpreters to support people who are Deaf and have a specific language need due to a disability or not being a native BSL user

A Single LSL CSW can offer interpretation in situations where a fully qualified interpreter might not be needed or if they need to provide more flexible communication support. It all depending on the individual needs of the Deaf user.

There are 5 main factors to take into consideration when it comes to understanding the average market rates for interpreting:
-
Language combination(s)
-
Type of supporting
-
Additional need
-
Demand and lack of supply
-
Local market (per country)
Some languages tend to be more pricey than others.
Splits them into different average price groups, just to give you a very rough idea.
Language groups,
Tier 1 - Average rates
BSL, SSE , Makaton

Tier 2 - Very costly rates
LSL, ESL, PSL
LSL CSW tend to be more pricey than BSL CSW.
It all comes down to supply and demand. Languages in high demand relative to the available supply tend to be more expensive than those with a lower demand.
In the end it’s the actual language pair (also called ‘language combination’) that ultimately influences the average interpretation rates on the market. The rarer the combination, the more expensive it tends to get.
Disclaimer: For each interpreting type, an informative table to give you a very rough idea of the respective rates on the UK market. Please note again that these tables are not ‘scientific’.

Right now, disabled people are facing too many barriers.
Barriers preventing them from being everything they can be. Physical barriers, social barriers, barriers of misunderstanding, of discrimination.

Because when we unite, incredible things can happen. Together we can do everything in our power to break the barrier – whatever that barrier may be.
